Gates reveals Obama coldness regarding our soldiers

Obama's eyes never welled up, writes former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. But that is just the latest example of Obama's lack of empathy for Americans serving their nation. Jim Geraghty writes at National Review: Gates writes that, unlike Bush, Obama lacked "passion, especially when it came to the two wars." Gates also writes that Obama did not believe in the mission and only wanted to scratch Afghanistan off his to do list-regardless of the sacrifices made there by our military. He sent soldiers to do battle with a strategy and leadership he did not believe in and with no commitment to success.  One might fault Bush for various actions as President but he was committed to win and took politically-risky decisions to do so (the surge in Iraq) "I worked for Obama longer than Bush and I never saw his eyes well up," Gates writes.
