Candy Crowley: Obama's Organic Helper

Speaking of her role as moderator in tonight's townhall style presidential debate, Candy Crowley told Politico, "I understand that I'm there. I'm not a fly on the wall. We don't want the candidates to spout talking points. That doesn't help voters ... I'm going to react organically to what's happening. Once the table is kind of set by the town hall questioner, there is then time for me to say, 'Hey, wait a second, what about x, y, z?" The "townhall" style presidential debate is supposed to be designed to allow the average citizens to ask both presidential candidates questions about issues that matter most to them. However, debate moderator Candy Crowley will hand pick pre-submitted questions from a group of undecided voters that she thinks matter most. And not only that, Crowley will also personally decide whether the candidates are using "talking points" and even go as far as asking the candidates her own "x, y, z" questions; in any case, Crowley said she will "react organically"...(Read Full Post)
