Obama, the Storyteller

In the New York Post, in the Washington Post, on the Charlie Rose show, and elsewhere, Obama claims that his biggest mistake as president has been neglecting to "tell a story to the American people."  It is typical of Obama to announce what he didn't do when he did that very thing, and manifestly.  He is always telling stories.  He is the chief teller of stories.  To pretend that he hasn't told his story is ridiculous.  Obama is known as the rhetorician, the storyteller, the myth-peddler.  If anyone has told a bevy of stories, it is Obama.  He says that he must "tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times." Maybe instead of telling a fairy story, Obama should start by telling the truth.  Maybe he should let us know that our military defenses, our economy, and original American values have all become degraded under his reign.  Emerson's self-reliance has become...(Read Full Post)
