Gibbs 'surprised' at pep-rally atmosphere of 'memorial speech'
Here's what Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said in response to a question about the campaign rally atmosphere of Obama's memorial speech in Arizona: I will say that I read the speech several times and thought that there wouldn't be a lot of applause if any. I think many of us thought that. But I think there was a celebration, again, of the lives of those who had been impacted. Not just at that grocery store but throughout the country. And I think that, if that is part of the healing process, then that's a good thing. So the administration was surprised at the "celebration"? With its attention to detail and stage production, the Obama administration didn't approve of the blue T-shirts that were handed out to the crowd? The Obama administration didn't approve of the Obama-style "memorial" slogan "Together We Thrive" which was printed on the T-shirts?
