Hundreds of years ago, when medical science was undevelopeed, people lost their lives for simple and easily preventable diseases. There was a time, for example, when bubonic plague was man’s number one enemy. Everybody, even those with no knowledge of medicine, longed to find a cure for the illness. Yet diseases were so terrifying that should anyone try to help halt the progress of the disease, he could be treated as a traitor to humanity.
