Are we starting to find out how Joe Biden got himself that $2.7 million mansion?
Joe Biden has always been a man of mystery as to how he obtained his wealth, reportedly in the $90 million range.
He doesn't understand markets, so we know it wasn't his investment acumen. He's an expert at nothing and has never written a significant book anyone would want to read. We also know that he's not much of a public speaker, stumbling his way through speeches, so he probably couldn't make much on speaking fees, though that could be a disguised avenue of bribery, particularly if fees are inflated. Still, it wouldn't explain $90 million.
He's has been in public office for his entire working life, though, he has that, some fifty-plus years in the halls of power, so while he theoretically doesn't have time to amass wealth the way the private sector does, he somehow has anyway. Some have pointed to many political officeholders getting rich while in public office based on insider trading which until a few years ago was legal and even today isn't enforced well. But it's hard to think of Biden managing a stock portfolio with any expertise, the way, say, Paul Pelosi, husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, can do.
But now that the House Oversight Committee under Rep. James Comer's capable leadership is examining things, it seems most likely he made it the old fashioned political way -- through naked political bribery.
According to the Daily Mail:
DailyMail.com has discovered that then-private-citizen Biden, who had spent virtually all his adult life in public service, bought [his Rehoboth Beach home in June 2017] for slightly under $2.75million – in cash.
And making the transaction even stranger it was within weeks of a highly questionable text that Hunter had sent to Runlong 'Raymond' Zhao, an associate at Chinese oil giant CEFC asking to seal a deal worth $10 million a year.
'I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,' Hunter wrote Zhao on WhatsApp on July 30, 2017.
He then appears to threaten Zhao – who he calls Z.
'Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand,' he writes at 9.45 am.
'And now means tonight,' he adds, apparently referring to time in Beijing, which is 12 hours ahead.
'And Z if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang or the chairman I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.
He signs off emphasizing: 'Ok my friend – I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father. I sure hope whatever it is you are doing is very, very, very important.'
There is no proof that Joe Biden actually was sitting with his son, but metadata from photos obtained by DailyMail.com from Hunter's infamous abandoned laptop show he was at his father's main house, his Wilmington mansion, the day the text was sent.
It follows from news that Biden's brother James wrote Joe a $200,000 check, which he helpfully wrote in the space below was a "loan repayment" meaning, not taxable.
Comer made no bones about the fact that the cash payout, believed to have been around $10 million from the Chinese oddly coincides with that $2.7 million cash purchase for the tony mansion.
Where the heck did Biden get $2.7 million to pay for the mansion, not squirreled away in illiquid investments the way President Trump's is, but cash-on-the-barrelhead, like it was sitting in a suitcase somewhere. Where's the bank withdrawal note, where's the stock or bond sale that brought the cash forth? And how exactly was that cash delivered for the mansion -- was it handed over in another suitcase?
It is not as though the IRS was not already watching them -- they were. Dozens of suspicious transactions were flagged by them around this time and whistleblowers have testified that they were thwarted in their natural desire to investigate these red flags. They may have some more interesting things to testify.
And what, again, did he get the money for? What did he do for them that he could do that nobody else could do, which could only be connected to his high public office? What did he sell them while he was supposedly representing us?
According to the Mail, Comer is on the ball about this:
'The fact that Joe Biden purchased a luxurious beach house around the same time his family was receiving millions from a CCP-linked company raises many questions that need to be answered,' Comer told DailyMail.com.
'The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the money trail to determine the extent of President Biden's involvement in his family's influence-peddling schemes and its impact on our national security,' Comer added.
It should yield some amazing fireworks, as the news of this corruption just keeps getting worse and worse and worse for Joe Biden. Bribery is one of the high crimes that call for a presidential impeachment, and with Democrats itching to get rid of both Joe and Kamala, it wouldn't be surprising to see an impeachment come down the pike from this. The mainstream media will continue to cover for Biden but at some point, they won't be able to ignore what Comer is not ignoring.
Let's hope that Comer gets to the bottom of this and gets Biden out of there soon, because this looks like the most corrupt president in U.S. history.
