Bernie bros cackle with John Kerry 'reporting for duty' again

Leftists of the Bernie Sanders stripe couldn't stop guffawing after NBC broke the news that John Kerry was considering a late entry into the presidential race

DES MOINES, Iowa — Former Secretary of State John Kerry — one of Joe Biden's highest-profile endorsers — was overheard Sunday on the phone at a Des Moines hotel explaining what he would have to do to enter the presidential race amid "the possibility of Bernie Sanders taking down the Democratic Party — down whole."

Sitting in the lobby restaurant of the Renaissance Savery hotel, Kerry was overheard by an NBC News analyst saying "maybe I'm f------ deluding myself here" and explaining that to run, he'd have to step down from the board of Bank of America and give up his ability to make paid speeches. Kerry said donors like venture capitalist Doug Hickey would have to "raise a couple of million," adding that such donors "now have the reality of Bernie."

Asked about the call later Sunday, Kerry said he was "absolutely not" contemplating joining the Democratic primary race. He reiterated the sentiment in a tweet later, saying "any report otherwise is f------ (or categorically) false." Minutes later, he deleted the tweet and reposted it without the expletive.

Here's how the Bernie bros took it:

They sound like Republicans, except that on the right, the coda is "Run, Lurch, Run."

Both sides know the same thing: Bernie's rise is a disaster for Democrats.

While Republicans can see that Sanders threatens the entire economy, Democrats see something else: that Sanders threatens the entire Democratic power establishment.

It's as if the "squad" is engulfing the Democratic Party establishment like a house fire, in the same way these Bernie-ites overwhelmed House speaker Nancy Pelosi into going through with the now failed Trump impeachment bid, only worse.

Joe Biden is not cutting it.  Elizabeth Warren is cratering.  Pete Buttigieg is going nowhere.  Bloomberg is an anathema...  They've been trying to save their burning edifice, most recently by bending their own rules to allow the entry of Michael Bloomberg into the next debate.  They've wheeled out President Obama to warn against extremists in the party.  Speaker Pelosi has warned Democrats in private.  But for the Democratic establishment, the Bernie fire in the house just keeps getting bigger.  Sanders is now at the top of the Iowa polls, and they're trying to hide even that.

As Kerry was overheard later saying, Sanders against President Trump would take the party "down whole."

Kerry has since denied, with profanity (later reposted without profanity), that he is really running.

Conservative Treehouse points out what's going on:

Chris Heinz and Hunter Biden were friends in business together, each cashing-in on the influence held by their fathers' [sic] John Kerry and Joe Biden.   Considering the likelihood Joe Biden was only running for President in order to: (1) shield himself from scrutiny, and (2) establish the cornerstone of the impeachment effort; it makes complete sense for John Kerry to be the participating campaign handler.

With Biden's impeachment usefulness now exhausted by DC engineers, there's no reason to prop-up his candidacy.  He's dropping like a proverbial rock.  However the risk to Biden and Kerry still exists (see Lindsey Graham interview today), thus Kerry is anxious.

That's an establishment going down in flames, desperate to save whatever it can now.  Fireman John Kerry, who's got a lot of stuff inside, a lot of baggage to save, a big rice bowl to protect as the flames lick, is now "reporting for duty."  He's got the Burisma stuff and all sorts of stuff to protect, as do so many in the Democratic establishment.  No wonder he was overheard in that state of desperation.

This is wretched.  No wonder the Bernie bros are sounding like firebugs or maybe little pitchfork demons, enjoying the inferno.
