Take a bow, Pocahontas: Murkowski hints that Warren's disrespectful question to Justice Roberts punked impeachment for Democrats

Did Liz Warren punk impeachment for the Democrats?

That's what some are saying, based on some veiled remarks coming from swing Senator Lisa Murkowski, who opted to go with her fellow Republicans and vote 'no' on calling more witnesses, leaving the final Democratic plan to Get Trump in ruins.

Murkowski broadly hinted that it was Sen. Elizabeth Warren's disrespectful question thrown out at Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts that was the decider.

According to CNN:

Her statement appeared to be a direct response to Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, a Democratic presidential candidate who had essentially forced Roberts to speculate about his credibility on national television.
Warren had submitted a question for the chief to read:

"At a time when large majorities of Americans have lost faith in government, does the fact that the chief justice is presiding over an impeachment trial in which Republican senators have thus far refused to allow witnesses or evidence contribute to the loss of legitimacy of the chief justice, the Supreme Court and the Constitution?"
Roberts, as part of his prescribed duties, read Warren's query from the dais. Word for word without expression.

For Murkowski, it was the final nail in the Democrats' impeachment coffin.

But it's not as though she didn't see competition.

Impeachment manager Adam Schiff spent much of his time telling Republicans deciding the matter that their heads would be "on pikes" if they went with his point of view, something that bombed with Republicans.

His rival, impeachment manager Jerry Nadler, spent much of his time telling Republicans they were "treasonous" and engaging in a coverup if they didn't go along with him. Another bomb. (By the end of this nonsense, the pair of them were trying to shut one another up).

But Warren seemed to be the last straw - telling Justice Roberts, who didn't even ask to be there, and had to listen through hours and hours of speeches even as Senators were slipping in and out of the room to get away from the mess, whether he had any credibility that did it. Such a disgusting question - and enough to tell Murkowski that the time to shut it down was now.

The Democrats went down in flames Friday over that string of dishonest impeachment stunts, not only failing to get some kind of political damage done to President Trump, but trashing themselves in the aftermath.

They had one job. It took several of them insulting Republicans to get the ball rolling on losing this case, but it took Elizabeth Warren to get the final losing shot through the hoop.

Stand up and take a bow, Pocahontas.
