Hillary finally gives voters a reason to support her: her deceased mother

Hillary is about to launch an ad blitz!  Unfortunately, she's accomplished very little as a senator, so can't talk about that.  There is a lot to talk about during her stint as secretary of state – but all of it is bad.  So she needs to give voters a reason to vote for her, and at last, she's found one: her deceased mother!

On Tuesday, Clinton’s campaign will begin broadcasting two TV ads in Iowa and New Hampshire. The one-minute spots, which will air over the course of five weeks, emphasize Clinton’s mother’s story over her own.

When I'm trying to decide whom to vote for, I am very interested in the life story of the deceased parents of the candidate.  I think this could be a key issue for voters, don't you?

On Tuesday, Clinton’s campaign will begin broadcasting two TV ads in Iowa and New Hampshire. The one-minute spots, which will air over the course of five weeks, emphasize Clinton’s mother’s story over her own.

Did Hillary have a father, too?  He's not mentioned in the ads.  I guess he wasn't very important, being a man, except for the key 30-second moment in his life when he passed on his genes.

The strategy for Clinton to talk about her mom is one that her campaign has been pushing since its launch. The hope is that telling personal stories will soften Clinton's image and re-introduce her to voters.

The article is careful not to speculate as to why Hillary needs to "soften" her image, or why she needs to "re-introduce" herself to voters.

Could it be that voters find her unethical and untrustworthy?  Could it be that her record is so devoid of accomplishments that she has to talk about someone else in her own campaign for president?  Does Hillary think that women are so dumb that they will vote for a woman simply because she talks about other women?

What do you think would happen if Scott Walker ran ads talking about the men in his life who inspired him?  He'd be the laughingstock of the media.  But when Hillary does it, people nod their heads somberly and go, "Yes.  She is a woman of a woman.  She is the one."

Given her inability to talk about the issues, can you imagine what an articulate conservative could do to her in a debate?  Or, alternatively, if she were in a debate with Jeb Bush, can you imagine how flustered and defensive he would be every time she mentioned the word "women," "girls," or "females"?

Exit question: Is Hillary dumb to presume that a lot of women will vote for her simply because she talks about women, or are there enough mindless leftist drone ladies out there that Hillary is actually making a smart move?  (And by the way, there are plenty of mindless leftist drone men, too.)
