Don't hold your breath waiting for Macy's and NBC to cut ties with S.F. over sanctuary city murderer

Companies that specialize in self-righteous boycotts realize that a few words from Donald Trump are much worse than policies opening up a city to murderers that repeatedly commit felonies and violate our borders.

So don't expect a press release from Macy's that reads like this:

Macy's is strongly committed to having all our shoppers enjoy their shopping experience without being perforated by random gunfire from dangerous criminals.  Therefore, we are announcing that we are closing all our stores in San Francisco to protest the Sanctuary City policy of San Francisco.  When our customers cannot shop for overcoats or bras and lingerie without fear of being shot in the back, we know it's time to close shop.  We are therefore moving to the relative safety of Oakland, in a specially constructed flameproof building.

Nor would NBC say:

The murder of Kathryn Steinle was bad enough, but now roving gangs are stealing our camera equipment!  That's expensive stuff!  Sorry, San Francisco, we have to leave you until you get at least as safe as El Paso.

On the other hand, Jeb Bush could issue a statement that he found the shooting of Steinle "personally offensive."  And Marco Rubio might remark on how relieved he is that the amnesty bill he sponsored never became law.
