Over the years Barack Obama and his team have gone to great lengths to explain away the rise of Islamic terrorism across the world. They have studiously avoided the “I “  word whenever possible. They have called the Ft. Hood massacre “workplace violence”. They have said the rise of ISIL in Iraq was due to George Bush. Marie Harf said it was lack of jobs. Now Barack Obama at a commencement address for Coast Guard cadets blames “climate change."

Nick Allen writes for the Daily Telegraph:

President Barack Obama has called climate change a "serious threat" to America's national security and linked extreme weather to the rise of Boko Haram and the outbreak of war in Syria.

Mr Obama said rising sea levels could undermine the effectiveness of US forces, jeopardise its military bases around the world and cost hundreds of billions of dollars. He accused those who deny climate change exists of a "dereliction of duty".

I understand climate change did not cause the conflicts we see around the world, yet what we also know is that severe drought helped to create the instability in Nigeria that was exploited by the terrorist group Boko Haram.

"It's now believed that drought and crop failures and high food prices helped fuel the early unrest in Syria, which descended into civil war in the heart of the Middle East."

I am sure the cadets were pleased to know they were being called not to defend the country or our borders but were soldiers in the war against “climate change”.

Have Christians, Hindus, Buddhists or any other group around the world resorted to terrorism? Islam is the source of terrorism around the world. Barack Obama’s failed policies have vastly exacerbated the scourge of terrorism. His nonchalant attitude towards it over the years; his refusal to do much about it, his justification for it (‘Christians should get off their high horse”) and his attempts to distract us from the real causes of terrorism are true “dereliction of duties”.
