'Stand with the Prophet in Honor and Respect conference' in Texas

This weekend in Texas, there will be a conference to defend the name of Mohammed and silence free speech.  It’s called the “Stand with the Prophet in Honor and Respect conference.”

This conference cannot move forward without our voices being heard.  There are things we can all do.  And must do.  Now!

Please read.  Then take action.

David Whitley at Eagle Rising reports (italics are mine):

While the world is filled with the news of Islamic terror other Islamists are at work to silence the critics by holding informational conferences and conducting public outreach.

One such case is happening in Texas at the Curtis Culwell Center (Garland Independent School District property) which is hosting an Islamic conference titled “Stand with the Prophet in Honor and Respect” that proclaims the need to be “Ready to defeat Islamophobia?” according to the Sound Vision Foundation, “a not for profit organization serving Muslims.” The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, at 5:00 pm.

The Sound Vision Foundation's web site states in part: Ready to defeat Islamophobia? This is not an event. It is the beginning of a movement. A movement to defend Prophet Muhammad, his person, and his message. This benefit will raise funds to establish a Strategic Communication Center for the Muslim community, which will develop effective responses to anti-Islamic attacks, as well as to train young Muslims in media.

Here’s a snapshot of the background of some of the scheduled speakers.  (Information gleaned from Eagle Rising, Before its News, Clarion Project, Creeping Sharia, and Atlas Shrugs.)

·      Unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

·      Close friend of the mastermind behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, Omar Abdel Rahman (the “Blind Sheikh”).

·      Supports the implementation of Sharia law and supports violent jihad.

·      Has preached: “Islam is better than democracy.” “If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate.” “If Allah says 100 strikes, 100 strikes it is. If Allah says cut off their hand, you cut off their hand. If Allah says stone them to death, through the prophet Muhammad, then you stone them to death, because it’s the obedience of Allah and his messenger – nothing personal.”America is the most wicked government on the face of the planet Earth” and that the U.S. is a “garbage can” that he prays “crumbles.” (To read more of what this vile man has preached, see here.)

·      Mosque has been involved with violent terrorist training and activity, including illegally obtained weapons. In 2013, he and the mosque were under surveillance by the NYPD for criminal and terrorist activity, including suspicion of raising money for terrorist groups.

·      Vice President of the Islamic Society of North America (since 1997) among other prominent positions.

·      Has said: “Qital [killing] is an essential element of Islam. And sometimes you don’t like it. Qital is ordained upon you, though it is hateful to you, but it may happen that you hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that you love a thing which is bad for you.”

John Esposito

·      Head of the Saudi-funded Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown, where Esposito is a professor.

Whitley has expressed outrage that the Garland Independent School District would host this kind of an event, wondering if they would host a Nazi conference, a KKK conference, or an Aryan Nation or skinhead conference.  With the presumption that they would not host such conferences, he rightfully questions why they are hosting this one.  He is urging people to contact the Curtis Culwell Center in Texas and the Garland Independent School District to urge them to cancel the event.

Curtis Culwell Center, here.

Garland Independent School District, here.

Meanwhile, the local CBS station has picked up the story:

Julie Borik says she and other Garland Tea Party members are outraged after hearing about two speakers who will appear at an upcoming event to combat Islamophobia at the Curtis Culwell Center, which is owned by the Garland ISD.

Borik says, “I believe in the Constitution and we have the right to free speech. There are other venues they could rent and I don’t want it on an ISD property that is government property. I’d like us to promote American values.” (snip)

Garland ISD spokesman Chris Moore says the district has received more than 100 calls and emails expressing concern. He says the district is simply leasing the space. “The district is not hosting, endorsing, or promoting or discouraging for that matter the event.”

As to the district claiming they are not endorsing the event, that’s a bunch of hogwash.  They may not technically be endorsing it, but I’d wager money they would never in a million years lease the space (without an endorsement, of course!) to certain other groups knowing that if they did, they would be on the receiving end of much-deserved wrath.  As Whitley pointed out, would they make the space available for use for a skinhead gathering?  Of course not.  And we know why.

It’s also pathetic that they’re not “promoting or discouraging” the event.  Ah, I see.  They’re neutral.  Perhaps they think this presumably neutral position renders them without responsibility.  But they are dreadfully wrong.  All actions and inactions have consequences.  And the school district must own up to the fact that it is renting its space to Islamofascists bent on destroying this country.  When dealing with Islam, neutrality doesn’t hold up.  One cannot be neutral about his own fate.  And if one is, then he needs his head examined.

Assuming this event moves forward, I hope a Christian and/or Jewish group contacts the organizations in Texas that are just renting out their space to hold a conference of their own.  Or for that matter any group of Americans who want to hold a conference addressing, say, oh, I don’t know…how about the threat of Islam against America?

But back to Saturday and what we need to do.

Pamela Geller, a fierce warrior in the battle against Islam and a tireless champion of free speech, has organized a counter-protest to be held at the site of the conference.  Please see below for information:

Saturday, January 17

3pm (CST)

4999 Naaman Forest Blvd.

Garland, TX 75040

Geller is asking people to RSVP (linking to her organization’s Facebook page to do so).  Please see below for additional information.  (For more details, see here.)

The human rights advocacy group the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) today announced that it will be holding a demonstration in defense of the freedom of speech on Saturday, January 17 in Garland, Texas, outside a conference on “Islamophobia” that seeks to stifle opposition to jihad terror and restrict the freedom of speech, working to further the same Islamic law that led to the Charlie Hebdo jihad massacre. (snip)

AFDI President Pamela Geller said in a statement: “Saturday’s Stand With the Prophet event seeks to combat ‘Islamophobes in America’ – in line with Islamic supremacist groups’ longstanding objective of defaming, smearing and marginalizing anyone who opposes the jihad agenda. They say they want to defend Muhammad – which means to silence those who notice that defenders of Muhammad just murdered sixteen people in Paris, and tens of thousands worldwide since 9/11.”

“Our AFDI rally,” Geller added, “will stand for the freedom of speech against all attempts, violent and stealthy, to impose Islamic blasphemy laws on Americans and stifle criticism of Muhammad and Islam. As Muhammad’s followers kill more and more people, we need critics of him more than ever – and free people need to stand up against these underhanded attempts to stifle all criticism of Islam, including honest investigations of how jihadists use Islamic texts and teachings to justify Jew-hatred, violence, supremacism and oppression.”
