Charlie Hebdo Mohammed cover causes Brit media to cower

On Wednesday, Sky News UK (a sister channel of Fox News in the News Corp. empire) had a special report (video embedded below) about the latest cover of Charlie Hebdo.  It featured former Charlie Hebdo journalist Caroline Fourest, who expressed her sorrow that journalists in the U.K. have not supported them – and indeed have betrayed them – by not showing the recent Charlie Hebdo cover.  She talked about the need for adults to determine what is and isn’t offensive, and how it is impossible for adults to do that if journalists won’t even show the cover.  At that point, she held up a copy of the most recent edition of the Charlie Hebdo cover to show the viewers and said it’s “completely crazy” that this cannot be shown in the U.K.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!  Cut!

The feed is then cut and switched to the Sky News desk, where the journalist (sorry, no name was shown in the clip) immediately announced to the general audience, and to Fourest, that they can’t show that image.  The British newscaster than rushed to apologize to anyone who may have been offended by seeing the flash of the cover.  (Gee.  I wonder who might have been offended!)

This is the world in which we live.  A world of brutes and cowards.

If I had not known that this clip is legitimate, I would have found it a hilarious bit of satire.  Perhaps an audition tape for Saturday Night Live.  But, alas, it was real.

I’m not sure how these cowards live with themselves, but if they don’t wake up soon, there won’t be much living left.

Free speech isn’t free.  It must be defended.  Fiercely.  Like all of our liberties.  But the West is in retreat.

Please take action.  Get involved.  There’s much we can do.  The media isn’t doing its job.  Be your own media.  See here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here (action items at end of article) for ideas and organizations that can focus your efforts.
