Michael Brown's Mother Heads to Geneva but Could Face Felony Armed Robbery Charges

A just released police report suggests that Ferguson, Missouri’s “Gentle Giant,” Michael Brown, learned his thug-like habit of roughing up convenience store clerks and stealing merchandise from his mother, Lesley McSpadden.  While the Ferguson grand jury deliberates whether to indict Officer Darren Wilson for defending himself in the August 9 shooting of McSpadden’s son, the police are trying to sort out the Brown family perpetrators from the victims in the October 18 brawl.

The Smoking Gun website obtained a copy of the official report detailing the violent fight between McSpadden, her mother Desureia Harris, and various relatives, including Michael Brown, Jr.’s grandmother, Pearlie Gordon, McSpadden’s ex-husband’s mother-in-law from his first marriage.

The police are still investigating, and McSpadden could face felony armed robbery charges.

An eyewitness to the mayhem said she recorded the incident and would provide a copy of the video to the police.  However, at the time of the report’s preparation, police noted she had not yet handed over the evidence.

From The Smoking Gun:

McSpadden’s mother, Desureia Harris, began to rip down t-shirts hanging on a line, Gordon told officers. Then, she added, other members of the group began “tearing her booth apart.” Gordon …said that during the melee she was repeatedly struck in the head and knocked to the ground.

At one point, Gordon recalled, she heard McSpadden “yell to an unknown subject, ‘That’s Calvina’s mom, get her ass.” [Calvina is the first name of Michael Brown Sr.'s wife.] McSpadden then ran up and punched Gordon,” according to the report.  Gordon’s male associates were also beaten--reportedly with a pipe--during the confrontation, and one of the men was transported by EMS workers to a local hospital for treatment of “injuries sustained during the assault.”

Gordon identified McSpadden (seen below), McSpadden's spouse, Harris, and several others as the “attackers.” More than $1500 in merchandise and $400 in “was stolen by unknown subjects” who fled before police arrived, the report notes.

The report comes two days after it was announced that Lesley McSpadden and Michael’s biological father will be speaking at a November 12 -13 United Nations Human Rights Conference in Geneva, Switzerland on brutality and racial profiling in the United States.

It gets even more bizarre.  Before turning over the report, Ferguson City Attorney Stephanie Karr made it clear to The Smoking Gun that McSpadden “specifically requested the report be withheld from the media,” then added, “knowing this, do you still want a copy of the report?”
