EU, BDS, and U

The European Union has joined the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divest, Sanction (BDS) movement by passing legislation that bans products made in Israel. Their excuse for this boycott is that Israeli goods are produced in regions of Israel the EU considers to be disputed “settlements.” In this way, the EU has found a great excuse to jump on the Jew-hate bandwagon and punish Israel, economically.

On Sunday, the media (in this case Yahoo News) put up the following headline:

“Israel ends export to EU of settler dairy, poultry produce”

What a twisted distortion of the truth – to present an anti-Semitic ban against Israeli products as something Israel initiated, as if Israel decided to withhold products and boycott the EU.

It’s a chilling echo of the Daily Express headline from March 24, 1933 that read:

"Judea Declares War on Germany! Jews of all the World Unite! Boycott of German Goods! Mass Demonstrations!"

AT readers, please make your voices heard on the EU ban of Israeli products. As Caroline Glick wrote last month, Congress can pass legislation that blocks European countries that embrace BDS from doing business with the American government. This will send a strong message to these countries that the United States will not tolerate such anti-Semitic boycotts and they will be punished if they continue down that path.

Won’t you join me in contacting members of the Energy and Commerce committee to urge them to take action to punish those EU countries that are taking part in BDS? Please contact members of the Energy and Commerce committee, which has six subcommittees as noted below, along with the Chair, Vice Chair, and Ranking Member.
