Milestones in airline maintenance

Iranian news agency ISNA proudly reports that Iran is now able to perform overhauls on its aging fleet of 5 Boeing 747s, which date from prior to the imposition of sanctions by the United States during the Jimmy Carter presidency. "Of course we can not deny the negative effects of the placed airplane part sanctions, but we have removed many of the obstacles through the aid of airlines," said the executing company's manager. The English is a bit fractured (Boeing is spelled "Bowing") so we think the manager quoted is an executive not an executioner. But with bootleg parts and improvised methods, who knows?
