It's Russia to the rescue, saving Obama's skin in the nick of time.
In a desperate attempt to save face, in his address to the nation, Obama tried to act as if he had a master plan to visit Russia to end the chemical weapons stand-off in Syria.
Actually, it was John Kerry's gaffe that Russia picked up on that led to Obama asking Congress to delay the vote to bomb Syria.
Kerry joked about Obama backing down if Syria would get rid of their chemical arsenal within a week. Not happening, he retorted.
But since Russian President Putin didn't want his Ally Assad bombed, any plan--or gaffe--would work. So Putin called Kerry's bluff and put Kerry's backhanded offer into play.
What is absurd, even laughable, was to watch Obama on prime time TV giving a national address trying to take credit for that gaffe as if it were strategy.
He looked Americans right into their eyes, actually a teleprompter, trying to add rhyme or reason to his strategic flip-flopping and waffling.
It was as if Obama is saying I was against invading before I was for invading but now that we have the facade of an international inspection, I'm fine doing nothing.
But regardless of winning ugly, we still won this one. At least Obama's not going in to Syria cowboy style, both guns blasting, to deflect attention from his numerous scandals.
So during this embarrassing lull, hopefully Republicans in Congress will focus on the most important matter at hand: Introducing articles of impeachment.
And quickly hand the baton to the Senate for a trial and conviction.
Obama has made history in other ways. Now let's let him make history as the first impeached and convicted President.
However, there may be one problem with that strategy. Obama could play an 11th hour trump card, saying:
"You can't convict me. I'm not a bona fide U.S. citizen, not a lawful President. Therefore you can't convict me."
At this point, looking back at a track record that is worse than any prior U.S. President in history, I'm not sure that would even shock me.
I can see the headlines now: Impeachment problems? No problem. Obama Rescues Obama.
You know we are in trouble when Obama uses John Kerry's gaffe in order to delay his own foreign policy decisions...
