American Thinker Rules: Join the Discussion

The purpose of the comments section is the discussion of the particular article or blog posted on American Thinker.  We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion on the subject at hand.  Comments must be 350 words or less in length.

Comment Criteria:

  • Civil.
  • On-topic.
  • No profanity.
  • Adds to the discussion.
  • No threats or personal attacks.
  • No racist or ethnicity-based attacks.
  • No advocacy of illegal activity.
  • Written in English.
  • No links to personal blogs, personal YouTube or other videos, or product sales.
  • No embedded formatting commands.
  • Suitable for general public reading.
  • No republication of material from other blogs (short quotations from and links to outside sources that support an argument are allowed).
  • No posting under the name of another real person, including public figures.
  • No mention or discussion of any sort of revolution or violence or arming to prepare for same.  American Thinker is absolutely committed to constitutional redress of political grievances.
  • Short sacred text and other quotes are permitted when combined with and relevant to topic discussion.
  • AT is a secular publication, so comments aimed at witnessing or proselytizing for a faith are not permitted.


American Thinker is a real-time website monitored by the American Thinker staff.  We reserve the right to delete any post for any reason at any time.  If an individual poster violates the rules, that poster may be removed from the registry and his or her posting privileges revoked.

AmericanThinker.com is a privately owned publication.  Publishing a comment on American Thinker is a privilege, not a right.
