The CPUSA emphasizes unity behind Obama, warning its fellow travelers to "resist efforts by reaction and some on the left" and to "not get bogged down in disputes over Cabinet appointments."

I reported before on the Communist Party USA and its elation over Obama's election . Below I highlight different sections of the People's Weekly World article on the subject (all emphasis added by me).

Communist Party USA leaders meeting here Nov. 15-16 celebrated the election of Barack Obama...

They adopted a call to action to carry out the election mandate... And they said maintaining the unity of the movement that elected Obama will be vital to making gains. Anything that disrupts that unity is "the worst thing that could happen," an Ohio steelworker retiree declared...

The "biggest challenge" now, [CPUSA National Chair Sam Webb] told the meeting, is to "resist efforts by reaction and some on the left" to advocate a break in the coalition that elected Obama and is now led by him. "We will have our differences but they have to be handled so as not to break the overall unity," he said...

CPUSA Labor Commission chair Scott Marshall noted the "near-total unity of labor" in backing Obama, saying it bodes well for further labor unity...

Fishman cautioned against getting bogged down in disputes over Cabinet appointments. "Our energy and focus should be on building the labor and people's broad movement at the grass roots," she said. "That is how we can give a constructive push in a united way."

Can you spot the marching orders easily enough? Stay united behind Obama, leader of the coalition. Pay no attention to his apparent moves to the center. Don't worry about Cabinet appointments. Trust the One, our leader.

This should shed some more light on Janet Shaw Crouse's article today. For those on the Left struggling with buyer's remorse, heed comrade Webb's advice: "don't break the unity."

Comrade Obama, our leader, knows not to make sudden moves.
