Chicago, election night

Thomas Lifson
Waitress Tina W. (last name withheld) tells us she was working the late shift at a bar in Chicago Tuesday night, and served a group of 6 African-Americans (correction: Tina emailed that it was a mixed party, male/females, not all males as previously written). Here is what was left for her as a tip, as the party exited the establishment.

We hope this is but a rare example of rudeness. But I was struck by the fact that we, too, have received hate messages using both the phrase "Black House" and addressing us as "bitches." Coincidence, I hope, but odd. I certainly hope this isn't the change Obama was talking about.

It would be nice to see the President-elect address such expressions on the part of his supporters. It offers a chance for him to show genuine leadership and bring us together.
