Yesterday, several Senate Democrats took to the Senate floor claiming that Rush Limbaugh called those among our troops who oppose the war ‘phony soldiers.'
Rush has, of course,
never made such a statement. He used this phrase in reference to a fake and fraud by the name of Jesse Macbeth who claimed that he served in Iraq where he allegedly witnessed atrocities committed by our troops. This turned out to be a lie and Jesse Macbeth is now in jail.
A George Soros-funded group called Media Matters for America, however, put out a release in which it made the allegation which is now parroted by the Democrats. Both the Democrats and the hacks responsible for that release know that it is a lie.
This feels like the Duke Lacrosse rape case all over again. There is an accusation which has not a grain of truth in it. The place of the unscrupulous prosecutor has now been taken by rabid Senate Democrats who -- like the disgraced Mike Nifong -- hope to score political points by willfully spreading a brazen lie about a prominent private citizen.
