Beware of Fox News and their Siren Calls For War

Socialist Congressman Bernie Sanders thinks that the American people are pretty stupid.

He believes that the cable news channel's "propaganda" about war with Iran is an echo of "rumblings" from the Bush Administration:

Senator Sanders of Vermont is backing a campaign to warn Americans that Fox News is using jingoistic programming to push the nation into a military attack on Iran. Mr. Sanders, a self-described socialist who caucuses with the Democrats, joined with a liberal filmmaker yesterday to denounce the popular cable channel for leading a drumbeat in favor of a military strike against Tehran.

"The leader of that effort is Fox News, which, in many ways, is a propaganda machine," Mr. Sanders said during a conference call with reporters and bloggers. He said the network was echoing "increased rumblings" from President Bush and Vice President Cheney about the prospect of an attack on Iran.

"We have got to put pressure on the mass media not to play the same craven role that they played in Iraq, where they essentially collapsed and became a megaphone for Bush's policies," the senator said.

The idea that Fox is echoing "increased rumblings" about attacking Iran is true. Fox should admit that they actually report the news every once and a while. My pet cat Aramas knows that the Administration has been rumbling about going to war with Iran for years and that those hints have increased lately.

Not suprisingly, the same could be said about CNN and MSNBC as well. They too have been reporting "increased rumblings" about an attack on Iran. But I guess since Jack Cafferty and Chrissy Mathews frown when they report that fact, it meets with Commissar Sanders approval.

Really now, are we going to have to put up with the nonsensical notion that Fox is somehow more biased in their coverage of events than CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the legacy media? Who is Sanders trying to kid? Not the American people who overwhelmingly note the liberal bias in media every time the question is put to them. Liberals say that it is brainwashing by conservatives that the American people think the media is biased against the right. And yet, study after study has shown the overwhelming proponderance of leftist journalists and editors that make up the newsrooms of American mass media. To believe that they are able to keep their biases out of reporting is to believe that they are not human.
