The always wise Don Surber thinks its a mistake for Hillary to roll out her updated version of "It Takes a Village" to kick off her campaign:

Big mistake. That anti-welfare reform chestnut has not held up very well in the decade that followed.

The Kumbaya wisdom of African villages has deteriorated into an AIDS ravaged continent of civil war where young boys carry AK47s and troops and UN pecekeepers alike gangrape young girls.

In a new introduction, she wrote, "Today's electronic village has certainly complicated the always difficult challenge of parenting and raising the next generation."

Most parents can deal with the Internet. The protection they really seek is from terrorists and the outside world. Hillary's test is not whether she can regurgitate liberal pablum on social issues, but whether she can deliver a military that is more than just a place to park her husband's ex-girlfriends.

I'm not so sure. Women voters are fed a constant stream of pablum from magazines aimed at them, shows like The View and TV "news" stars like Katie Couric where Hillary plans the kickoff. It's almost as if there were a concerted campaign to , as an online friend calls it "suck out our brains".

I do know one thing. The multi-racial kids who were on the cover of the first book with her were not from Sidwell, which she chose for Chelsea to attend. They are from the Washington International School, which my son attended.
