Hillary and Bernie turn on Obama, now support bill to allow 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia
President Obama has to be furious with the about-face executed by Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. He leaves for Saudi Arabia tomorrow and will meet with King Salman on Wednesday. The Saudis are apoplectic over the possibility of the bill passing and have threatened to pull $750 billion in investments out of the U.S.
After both initially claiming they were unfamiliar with the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, which has already passed the Senate Judiciary Committee, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders decided to openly support it. As the New York Daily News reports:
The two Democratic presidential candidates are in outright rebellion against the Obama administration’s efforts to scuttle a bill that would allow families of loved ones killed in the 9/11 attacks to sue Saudi Arabia. (snip)
