Jeb Bush's tell: 'I've got a lot of really cool things I could do'

Jeb Bush is giving the impression of a depressed and defeated man, ready to throw in the towel and admit defeat in his presidential race. At a presidential town hall in South Carolina sponsored by Senator Tim Scott and attended by Rep. Trey Gowdy, the former Florida governor seemed to say he’s got better things to do.

“I’ve got a lot of really cool things I could do other than sit around, being miserable, listening to people demonize me and me feeling compelled to demonize them. That is a joke. Elect Trump if you want that.”

A Bush ad is running on cable news a lot lately featuring Jeb addressing a town hall audience, microphone in hand, and his posture is that of a defeated man, head slightly bowed, shoulders slumping. He looks like a depressed man.

I actually feel sorry for Jeb. He expected a cakewalk and got combat. I must be tough in the context of the Bush family to fail to become president. On the other hand, if he is a man that can be flummoxed by the likes of Trump, it is good thing that he didn’t waltz into the Oval Office and face the likes of Vladimir Putin.
