Absolutely no one surprised that Rachel Dolezal in talks for TV reality show

This was in the cards the moment the story broke.  Radaronline is reporting that Rachel Dolezal, who faked being a real black, has been offered two “reality” shows by production companies and is in talks with others.  According to someone called “an insider”:

Rachel recognizes that she is going to need an agent and a publicist, and is going to be hiring a professional team in the next few days.

Fame and fortune beckon, as the apparently insatiable public appetite for voyeurism toward the bizarre and disturbed creates opportunity for exhibitionists and their enablers.

Speaking of inevitability:

“Rachel wants to use all of the publicity to raise awareness about race relations,” the source said.

Is there a sentient being in the United States who is not aware of race relations?  Given the saturation coverage of race, including the appetite for a “reality” show about an unreal “black” person, is it even possible to raise awareness?

Rachel already has fans who want to shower her with wealth.  The example she is setting and the rewards she is reaping will have an impact on our culture.  How ironic that something loosely called “reality television” is untethering our culture from actual reality.
