Video of Trey Gowdy's questioning of Jonathan Gruber today

Trey Gowdy, the razor-sharp former prosecutor and Congressman from South Carolina, was Jonathan Gruber’s worst nightmare today, during his testimony before the Issa Committee. It becamse transparently clear that Gruber had been given a few lines, and he would stick to them, no matter what the question.  Paraphrasing: “I was trying to look smarter than I am” (faking humility), “I was expressing an opinion but am not an expert” (so don’t hold me responsible for what I said), and “My comments were inappropriate” (suitably vague).

Gruber comes across as a weasel, and you can see on his face that he doesn’t for second believe the pap he is spouting here.

It is well worth sticking through the entire six and half minutes to see the adept hand-off to Chairman Issa at the end, clinching the deal.
