'Regrettable but understandable'

On Saturday, a CNN host and the station’s expert clinic psychologist talked about Michael Brown’s stepfather’s call to burn down Ferguson in the aftermath of the Grand Jury verdict. They talked about how emotions were running high, how Michael Brown’s family was originally calling for calm, and how the family now regrets calling for violence in the immediate aftermath of the grand jury verdict being announced.

The key word in all this discourse was that the family’s immediate reaction, including the call to violence, was “understandable.” Is this not the same word our president used when talking about the rage flaring in Ferguson? It’s also the same word a Georgetown University student recently used to describe the experience of being mugged at gunpoint.

“Understandable” is really taking off as the left ramps up the inanity even more (just when you thought it couldn’t go any higher).

So, America, it is now “understandable” for a person to lose all sense of self-control and reason and to call for the complete destruction of a town. It is understandable if someone feels mad or entitled or whatever it is they feel at any given moment, to act out in whatever way they choose.

This, my friends, is not how a civilized society remains civilized. This is not how a civilized society survives. This behavior and mindset gives a free pass to anarchy and the indulgence of anything goes.

What the left now considers “understandable” is thoroughly and completely unacceptable. Spread the word.
