It's official. Officer Darren Wilson has resigned.

A criminal disobeyed orders from a law enforcement officer, whom he then assaulted. (An officer who, I might add, had never fired his weapon before in his entire career.) And for that, throngs of people are behaving like uncivilized maniacs.

Yahoo News reports:

Wilson told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he was stepping down out of his "own free will" after the police department told him it had received threats of violence if he remained an employee. (snip)

As to Sharpton’s comment (grammar aside), justice was served in case he hadn’t noticed. It’s called the Grand Jury. It’s called the criminal justice system. It’s called due process.

Here’s a suggestion: How about if Al Sharpton and gang move along to communities where blacks murder other blacks on a daily basis but the perpetrator is never caught because people are too scared to come forward to testify as witnesses? Where’s the justice for innocent black lives lost where cases remain unsolved because the black community clams up?

But no. Instead we have mayhem because a law enforcement officer did his job.

And more mayhem is in store because he resigned. You can be sure there would be mayhem if he didn’t resign, as well. Gateway Pundit reports on Twitter messages:

BRING YOUR ASSES TO #FERGUSON PD BY 9:00PM! BRING BANNERS. SIGNS. POTS. PANS. DRUMS. BUCKETS. EVERYTHING YOU CAN!

#Ferguson PD tonight. Be there. By 9pm. This resignation is NOT enough. And we're going to let them know. Tonight.

@CassandraRules: @akacharleswade at least now it will be less charges if someone finds him, since he's no longer an officer.” YAAASSS!!!

Sickness does not describe what is unfolding in front of us. Madness had taken hold and has taken on a life of its own. I know not how or where this will end. But I pray for Officer Darren Wilson and his family. I pray they will be safe from harm. And that life will shower them with many blessings.

Wilson's resignation didn't seem to affect protesters outside Ferguson police headquarters Saturday night.

Rick Campbell said he didn't care about the resignation, saying: "I've been protesting out here since August." Several other protesters merely shrugged their shoulders when asked about the resignation.

"We were not after Wilson's job," civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton said in a written statement. "We were after Michael Brown's justice."
