DWS Watch: Slander at all cost

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz is a provocateur. (Apparently you don’t have to be that bright to be one.)

She makes wild claims, imbued with righteous indignation, spoken with a straight face. If I wasn’t so revolted by her, and if her language wasn’t so inflammatory, I’d simply feel sorry for her.

So what did she say now?

Per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (and covered on CNN, as well), she said this:

Scott Walker has given women the back of his hand. I know that is stark. I know that is direct. But that is reality…What Republican tea party extremists like Scott Walker are doing is they are grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back. It is not going to happen on our watch.

Debbie, Debbie, Debbie. You really messed up this time. Even the DNC had to step in to provide cover.

Lily Adams, DNC deputy communications director, said in a statement, “Domestic violence is an incredibly serious issues, and the congresswoman (Wasserman Schultz) was by no means belittling the very real pain survivors experience.”

Shultz made her regrettable statement when she was in Milwaukee campaigning against Walker. No doubt her remarks got lots of women fired up.

This is what the left does. They create vivid and emotionally charged images to stir voters. It doesn’t matter if they retract their statement afterward or are admonished. It’s out there and it takes hold. It’s a highly effective and manipulative, tool.

And in this upside down world, far too many voters seem compelled by this nonsense.
