Congressman Trent Franks

I’d never heard of Arizona Congressman Trent Franks until a couple of days ago when I saw a video of him speaking about Obama’s response to the war being waged against Israel. Since it seems rare to hear elected officials plainly speak the truth, and increasingly rare to find them boldly supporting Israel, it was a relief to hear one of them do it.

I thought nothing this president could ever say or do would surprise me anymore, but this flushed and breathless rush to embrace terrorists launching rockets at Israeli children is an unprecedented act of cowardice and betrayal. America’s fleet should this minute be off the coast of Israel and the world, including Abbas, Hamas, and Hezbollah, should know that America’s arsenal of freedom stands ready to defend our most precious ally on earth.

After listening to his short speech, I visited the congressman’s website and was relieved to see that among his list of “Issues,” is “National Security.” Believe it or not, there are many elected officials who don’t even have this as a category among their issues, including many Republicans.

Not only did Congressman Franks include national security among his issues, but he had an articulate statement about it. And the statement was more than three generic sentences in length (something one also finds on the web sites of far too many elected officials).

The congressman’s website was well designed, thorough, and user friendly. (If I can use it, anyone can!) It’s obvious that he wants his constituents to be informed and able to access information.

My curiosity was piqued and I wondered if some of what I was seeing was window dressing or if he was the real deal, so I started to do a bit more research into his voting record and as far as I can tell, he is very much the real deal.

It could be that I’m just catching up to what AT readers already know. But for those who were unaware of this terrific patriot, then it’s a pleasure to pass along a bit of good news about a man who is a ray of light.
