Now they tell us: Majority against government health insurance guarantee

The low information voter will be the death of America. New Gallup poll shows a majority of Americans now disagree with liberals that it is the government's responsibility to see that all Americans have health insurance: For the first time in Gallup trends since 2000, a majority of Americans say it is not the federal government's responsibility to make sure all Americans have healthcare coverage. Prior to 2009, a majority always felt the government should ensure healthcare coverage for all, though Americans' views have become more divided in recent years. e current results are based on Gallup's annual Health and Healthcare poll, conducted Nov. 15-18 this year. The shift away from the view that the government should ensure healthcare coverage for all began shortly after President Barack Obama's election and has continued the past several years during the discussions and ultimate passage of the Affordable Care Act in March 2010.
