The liberal media vs. your lyin' eyes

Here's how the "theft suspect" at an Austin, Texas mall is described in news stories in the Austin American Statesman and in the online site of KXAN, a television news channel:

• white male
• 25 to 35 years old
• 6 feet 2 inches tall
• weighing 220 pounds
• stocky build
• brown hair with sideburns
• goatee

And here's a surveillance camera photo of the suspect:

Am I missing something here? Or is this maybe just another "white Hispanic" or something. Lots of journalists, of course, like to keep a perp's race out of a story -- in cases where the perp is black or Hispanic. However, this seems to be a first -- describing an obviously black or Hispanic guy as white.

Or maybe it's a white guy with a really dark tan.
