Panetta Uses Military Budget to Prop Up Green Energy Firms

It was pointed out in January by AT that Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta has plans to "decimate" the military budget. Now we learn that the Secretary of Defense has been using the military budget to prop up Obama's venture capital escapades into green energy. The military has been forced to spend 4 billion of its budget on biofuels, solar panels and EV's over the past four years in accordance with Panetta's vow "to keep the military green." Credit James Inhofe (R-Okla.) for bringing these matters to the floor of the senate. Senator Inhofe, a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, argued that the expenditures are foolish at a time when the military is facing "devastating cuts." Senator Inhofe went on to say that while he is in favor of more efficient alternatives to fossil fuels that until such have been developed the military should not be forced to use what is currently on the market which can cost four times as much as fossil fuels.
