Santorum wins big in Kansas

As expected, Rick Santorum won the Kansas Caucuses by a large margin and will take home the lion's share of the state's 40 delegates. But Mitt Romney also had a good day, taking the Guam, Northern Marianas, and Virgin Island caucuses while dominating the Wyoming county cacuses. He also picked up 3 more superdelegates and one uncommitted delegate. All told, despite Santorum's big Kansas win where he took 33 of the 40 delegates at stake, Romney extended his delegate lead according to the AP delegate count: Wall Street Journal: With all of the precincts reporting, the Associated Press reported Mr. Santorum had 51% of the Kansas vote. That compared with 21% for front-runner Mitt Romney, who didn't visit the state, and 14% for Newt Gingrich, who canceled a scheduled trip to the state late last week to concentrate on Tuesday's primaries in Alabama and Mississippi.
