The statute of limitations has run out on political correctness

Tim Wise, captain of the race industry, recently wrote a polemic essay about what he calls "Patriotic Correctness."  What is ostensibly a piece about Arizona's Tuscon Unified School District having their ethnic studies program outlawed because it focuses on one racial group degenerates into his usual tripe about how anyone who favors the policy in question is a racist.  But, what caught my eye about this one was not his characteristic rants against any attempt to celebrate or uphold anything traditionally white, Christian, or American.  His ilk will always do everything they can to suck the joy out of those things.  Rather, it was the following statement that gave me a chuckle:

...the thing they derisively called political correctness was really never more than an attempt by we on the left to get people to not be a__holes (by doing blatantly racist, sexist and heterosexist things)

Isn't that rich?  Let us count how many things are laughable about this comment.  Number one, the sentence is devoid of any explanation of what ever qualified the left as final arbiter on what constitutes an "a__hole."  Of course, Wise would argue that the section in parentheses  provides all the explanation we need, and we all know that he's his living room's foremost authority on those three items as well.

Ill-informed negative stereotypes notwithstanding, leftists like Wise have proven time and again that their judgments on these dimensions are grossly hypocritical.  A White liberal can hurl the most paleolithic racial slurs at Herman Cain or Shelby Steele and Wise can be relied upon to keep his trap firmly shut.  But never the other way around.  No, that would be allowing "real" racism to perpetuate itself.  We all know liberals can't be racists, right?  In fairness, Wise did write an essay on the racism and privilege of the left, but it rings hollow when he repeatedly ignores blatant slurs like this.

We've all had or heard a futile discussion with one of these sanctimonious clucks.  You know, the one where they make compliance with their speech governance a moving target?  If you call a Hispanic person a Hispanic, they correct you and say you're supposed to call them a Latino, or vice-versa.  Those gay and lesbian acronyms change on a monthly basis, so you're doomed there.  And, if you make the inexcusable mistake of using words like Mexican to describe a person from Mexico, well, you might as well be David Duke's twin.

As is always the case with the left's policies, political correctness quickly went from seemingly innocuous to downright oppressive.  Oh sure, some of us might look back fondly on the early movement.  Several feminists at my own university campus in the early 1990s actually campaigned to get city officials to change the sanctioned term for manholes to "personholes."  That one fell apart when the feminists decided that the new word needed to be free and clear of the word "son."  So, they settled upon "peopleholes," all the while forgetting that even most left-leaning individuals cared little about what to call something they might mention once every Halley's Comet.  When these PC patricians finally realized that even civic-minded students didn't give a crap, they started after the word "freshmen," which doesn't appear to have worked either.

I digress.  Nowadays, failure to comply with these ambiguous speech codes has the potential to remove a person from his or her job.  Yes, another way for liberals to destroy wealth and prosperity.  And leave it to Wise, who has yet to hold down a real job, to assume that the workplace can be perfected in the left's image.  At some point in every employee's career, there will be a team member with whom they strongly disagree.  That's life, at least in the real world.  Unfortuntely a charlatan like Wise enjoys almost complete uniformity of ideology in his "workplace," which consists of guest speakerships at left-leaning churches, synagogues, and campus lecture halls.  The fact that some corporations still hire him to speak at diversity seminars after obnoxious rants like this one is beyond all reckoning.

So, the next time someone tries to correct your speech in a vain attempt to make his or herself appear morally superior and "down" with racial minority groups, just laugh in their face.  Tell them you're done kowtowing to the left's speech codes.  That's what I've done numerous times in my comments on Huffington Post and it drives those cranks to distraction.  It's glorious to witness their world crumbling around them and all their crusty Alinsky tactics eliciting mere yawns.  Do join the fun of reminding them of that.
