Bachmann surges into primary lead - Zogby

There are many pollsters who have a problem with Zogby's methodology, and his numbers are consistently off those of other pollsters by 2 or 3 points.  But the fact that his latest poll shows Michele Bachmann ahead of Mitt Romney after the Minnesota congresswoman had previously been in the low single digits is probably significant: Fresh off her well-received performance in last week's GOP presidential debate, Rep. Michele Bachmann now tops the field of candidates in a new Zogby poll of Republican primary voters. The poll found Mrs. Bachmann garnering 24 percent of the vote, well-ahead of businessman Herman Cain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who each received 15 percent support. Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., who officially announced his candidacy on Tuesday, scored just 2 percent support. That 24% for Bachmann might be a little too high, and 15% for Romney a little low.
