November 4, 2010 Border crisis continues to deteriorate
If any issue deserves to override all other issues, it would be the deteriorating national security crisis on the southwest border. WSBTV Channel 2 in Atlanta now reports that they have obtained evidence that confirms that terrorists indeed have entered the country through our virtually unguarded border:
“Retired immigration agent Michael Cutler says the actual threat is being covered up. "Incredibly the government is attempting to keep the citizens like a bunch of mushrooms. Keep us in the dark and feed us a bunch of manure." The article went on to say :
It has been over nine years since the September 11th attacks and our government has yet to do anything meaningful to secure the border from terrorist infiltration. The Obama administration has taken this dangerous precedent to a whole new level. Not only have they not done anything to secure the border, they have instead decided to vehemently fight against those who simply try take measures to lessen the crisis, even going so far as to cite Arizona’s new immigration law in a UN Human Rights report. Clearly, as Sheriff Babeu stated, “Things are not getting better, they are getting worse“. Back in 2005, Representative John Culberson of Texas warned:
One would think that national security concerns would be at the forefront of the border debate. Yet, an alarming number of Americans appear to be under the seemingly unbreakable delusion that the border situation is somehow a racial issue that comes down to whether or not one is pro-Hispanic or anti-Hispanic; and that those who oppose amnesty (which leads to increased illegal immigration and thus makes Border Patrol’s job even more impossible that it already is) are somehow bigoted, anti-immigrant, radical nationalists who are insensitive to the plight of hardworking people who just want a better life. Yet, what kind of future are we insuring for any people if we recklessly ignore such an obvious national security threat? To put it in a different light, take what Thomas Sowell wrote last year about a related matter:
Similarly, what good will a supposedly tolerant and compassionate policy of open borders mean when it ultimately makes possible a major terrorist attack? All US residents, both legal and undocumented, politician and private citizen alike, will be in danger. Earlier this year it was revealed that Adnan Shurkajumah, a terrorist on the loose, may have traveled to the United States in 2004 by illegally crossing the Mexican border. Shurajumah is said to be working on the so-called “American Hiroshima” plot. This is what is at stake. This is the fate that our enemies seek to inflict on our nation. Thomas Sowell has dared to point out exactly what nuclear terrorism would mean for us:
What promise will this country hold for any oppressed people if it ceases to exist through an utterly mad neglect of basic national security? There will no longer be any “last best hope of man on earth” for legal or illegal immigrants from any corner of the world; nor will there be any electoral rewards for politicians who pandered to political correctness.
