September 25, 2010 FBI searches anti-war protestors homes on 'terror warrant'
The FBI searched the homes of anti-war protestors in Minneapolis and Illinois yesterday on a "terror warrant."
What is significant is that the authorities were looking for documents and other evidence that would show these people gave support to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Hezb'allah, and the Colombian terrorist rebels in FARC. From the Strib: The FBI raided the Minneapolis homes of five antiwar activists, including three leaders of the Twin Cities peace movement, Friday morning as part of what it called a probe of "activities concerning the material support of terrorism." Many hard core leftists refuse to acknowledge any of those groups are "terrorists" by their definition. Ted Dooley, Kelly's attorney, called the raids "a probe into the political beliefs of American citizens and any organization anywhere that opposes the American imperial design." He said the warrants cited a federal law making it a violation to provide or conspire to provide material support to designated foreign terrorist organizations. The PFLP especially makes no pretense that it is a "political" outfit in the sense that even Fatah refuses to recognize it as anything except an armed militia. Of course, it has been notorious over the years for carrying out terrorist attacks on Israeli citizens. No doubt their defense is going to be that these groups are not terrorists but rather freedom fighters. It used to be we could afford this kind of naivete from idiot leftists but no longer. Anyone stupid enough to take these thugs at their word that they are fighting for freedom from oppression deserves to spend a very long time behind bars |
