Cartoon follies in Montreal

Jerry Philipson
Montreal's La Metropole newspaper recently ran a cartoon depicting a Hasidic Jewish taxi driver driving a cab labelled Taxi de David and calling out "Come in! May Yaveh be with you..." The cartoon's headline is "A taxi transformed into a... synagogue?"

Guess what would have happened if La Metropole ran a cartoon of a devout Muslim taxi driver driving a cab labelled Taxi de Muhammad and calling out Come in! May Allah be with you, under the headline A taxi transformed into a...mosque?

Canada would have had it's very own Danish cartoon episode, that's what.

Pathetic and disturbing isn't it.
