Where in the world?

I had to look twice at the Chicago Sun Times' headline "Eight Dead among 52 Shot Across the City over Weekend."   Surely the headline referred to some lawless region of the world, perhaps, Iraq, Afghanistan or the Gaza area.  But, no, these multiple occasions of violence occurred in Chicago where the skyscapers and planters hide the underlying rot in this democratic stronghold.  President Obama may want to rethink where he deploys US troops in the future when we can not even contain the violence in our own borders.  The city, county and state has been run by democrats for years, and even when we have had a Republican governor the democratic legislature has gotten its way.  All their programs
