Rabbi who filmed Helen Thomas rant gets death threats

Last Friday the video of Helen Thomas' anti-Semitic rant spread like wildfire across the internet. The reaction was such that MSM was forced to provide coverage of Ms. Thomas' outrageous and deeply offensive remarks although many of her colleagues were apologetic for her behavior. In just a few days the liberal media icon announced her immediate retirement. End of story, right?

Since the demise of Helen Thomas an even more disturbing story has emerged. The Rabbi who videotaped his brief, but incendiary interview with Ms. Thomas has come under attack. FoxNews.com reports.

Rabbi David Nessenoff said he is facing an "overload" of threatening e-mails calling for a renewed Holocaust and targeting his family...

"This ticker tape keeps coming in," Nessenoff told FoxNews.com. "We got one specific one saying ‘We're going to kill the Jews; watch your back."'

Although Rabbi Nessenoff was shocked by Thomas' anti-Semitic remarks, he has been even more disturbed by the immense volume of the threatening and hateful response which has followed in the wake of her retirement.

"This is something that I thought was a couple of people here or there, [but] it's mainstream and it's frightening," the Long Island Rabbi said. "[Thomas] is just a little cherry on top of this huge, huge sundae of hate in America."

[...]

"We have received a lot of positive reaction, beautiful letters...from all over the United States," he said, but they have been outweighed by the attacks that have flooded in.

Rabbi Nessenoff has posted a number of hateful letters and comments from YouTube on his website, RabbiLive.com.

This frightening eruption of anti-Semitism right here in America must not go unchallenged. As people of good conscience we must not look the other way and ignore this menace in our midst, the words "never again" should hold a special meaning for each and every one of us.
