Construction:  1,899,000 (25%)

Durable goods:  1,606,000 (18%)

Goods producing:  4,086,000 (19%)

Retail trade:  1,134,100 (7.3%)

Total private industry:  8,320,000 (7.2%)

Job gains in government:  119,000 (0.5%)
