December 14, 2009 CMS writing Obamacare's obituary
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) may eventually prove to be instrumental in bringing Obamacare to a well deserved end.
Writing at the Heritage blog Morning Bell, Conn Carroll: Last month, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) rammed through her version of Obamacare almost a week before the agency in charge of running Medicare and Medicaid, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMMS), could issue its non-partisan and independent analysis of the legislation. And for supporters of the President's plan, it's a good thing she did. The CMMS report eviscerated almost every single promise the President has made about his health care plan. All of these drawbacks have been brought to our attention before, just never in one place nor issued by such a non-partisan body. This is truly insane for the Democrats to continue pushing this monstrosity in the face of such extraordinarily dire effects. They must have an electoral suicide wish. More likely, they are waking up to the fact that the bill they have now is just not going to make it and they will have to scale back their plans drastically in order to get something passed. That is, unless Obama forces them over the cliff at which point he insures not only their destruction but makes his own re-election much more problematic. |
