The Obama Administration is constantly being berated by conservatives for acting in "The Chicago Way".
As Sean Connery's character Jim Malone said in The Untouchables: "You wanna know how you do it? Here's how, they pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way, and that's how you get Capone!"
But how can this administration scare anybody? The President's Chief of Staff is a ballet dancer, the Senior Advisor is a pudgy, balding middle-aged man with a bad mustache, and the press secretary is a petulant fraternal twin of the Pillsbury doughboy. The President himself doesn't look like he could stand up to his own wife in a brawl.
The Adminstration is waffling pathetically on sending more troops to Afghanistan. In the meantime, our soldiers are getting killed. Our guys are going to the morgue. That's not the Chicago Way.
There is another Chicago way that became evident in a recent cell-phone video. A couple of high-school students in Chicago beat another student to death with a 2x4 while many students cheered and watched.
Maybe the Chicago way of this administration is to stand to the side and smile as bullies go to work on the oppositionLet's call this the Other Chicago Way.
