Something strikes me as weird about the two young women journalists freed from supposedly harsh captivity. What's up with all the baggage they carry?

Were they picking up trinkets for the family? Did they get some lovely parting gifts, keepsakes from the Dear Leader? Or maybe they just saved up the shampoo bottles and pillow mints?
