July 7, 2009 Hospitals on board with national health insurance
One thing you've got to say about corporate America; they know which way the wind is blowing and are embracing Obama's statism in order to both survive and prosper. They are making peace with the new regime and will be handsomely rewarded for it.
The latest bunch of corporate lackeys for Obama are the hospitals as Ceci Connolly and Michael Shear of the Washington Post report: The nation's hospitals agreed last night to contribute $155 billion over 10 years toward the cost of insuring the 47 million Americans without health coverage, according to two industry sources. Eventually, with everyone (or nearly everyone) carrying some kind of insurance, profits will go up due to fewer non-payees and larger co-payments. One by one, health industry corporations will see the writing on the wall and scramble to make their deals with Obama. Not a pretty sight. |
