Compromise Close on Seating FL and MI Delegates?

Rick Moran
Sam Stein of Huffington Post is reporting that two top level sources are saying that a compromise on seating the Florida delegation at the Democratic convention has been reached:

Two sources, including a high-ranking official with the Florida delegation, have confirmed that the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee (RBC) reached an agreement last night and will seat the state's entire delegation but give each delegate half a vote. The result would be a net gain of 19 delegates for Sen. Hillary Clinton, though there is no word yet on how the superdelegates from the state will be allocated. It is, the official says, a compromise that Sen. Barack Obama will be willing to make. "There will be theater but not much fight."

Moreover, the impasse over what to do about Michigan's delegation may be approaching resolution.

The Michigan compromise would involve seating all the delegates based on Hillary Clinton getting 55% of the vote and Obama receiving all of the "uncommitted" delegates. Clinton had objected to that because there was nothing in party rules that allowed for all the uncommitted to go to one candidate.

If this holds, Clinton will pick up a net 29-32 delegates on Obama - a significant gain but not nearly enough to cut into his substantial lead.

Is the fight over? Most analysts are saying Hillary will go on. Allow me to go against the grain here and predict that she's out of the race before the middle of the month. I believe the remaining Superdelegates will break heavily for Obama and perhaps many of her own supers will switch allegiances.

She may "suspend" her campaign until the convention, hoping against hope that something else emerges from Obama's problematic past to torpedo his campaign. But that's a pipe dream and she knows it. That's why I think the chances are good that she will be out of the race officially in a fortnight.

The entire delegation, but with half a vote each? It's the same as seating half the delegates. Typical Democratic symbolism.

Mr. Moran you may be right about Hillary this time. I can recall, though, countless times in the past few months that Hillary has been counted out only to get up off the canvas and land a few good punches herself. Like the saying goes, "it ain't over till the fat lady sings".

While the last source I would trust for honest reporting is Huff Po, I must admit that in this instance their reporting is probably correct. What a shame, I was hoping to let the show go on until August; that way Hillary could go on preforming "pro-bono" work for the Republicans. But, alas, all good things come to an end.

Now what am I going to do with all of the popcorn I've stocked up on............

Predicting what Billary is going to do on this is a fool's game.

Hahaha, the democrats are such a joke. It is funny. They have to pander and wrangle to make sure nobody is offended and that everything seems fair. The democrats are all image and no substance. When you stand for everything you stand for nothing. As to Obama, I think he is popular with the party "leaders" because he is not a leader, he is a puppet with a teleprompter who can be controlled. Real leaders cannot be ruled but Obama is a empty suit who can have his strings pulled.
On a side note, I still think Hillary will get the nomination. Hillary is Satan reincarnate and nothing shall stand between her and our servitude.

You Folks are missing the elepant in the room. Now that Hillary knows where her votes are coming from, She will jump ship and run as an
indepentant. The press and the democratic party fixed this nomination in more ways
than one. That would make for a really interesting november.

With the retinue the Obamassiah has, both the current ones and the thrown-under-the-bus ones, anything can happen. Who knows, maybe the Big Gaffer will even do himself in with more sightings of veterans' ghosts in Sunshine City, Florida (the 55th State of the Union, I've been told), but that would also require the MSM to do their true jobs, not be the shills for Hope! & Change! as they have been. It would be nice to see if the "Recreate '68"-ers and the Hillary supporters can make the Denver Coronation as uncomfortable as possible for the Dems, and great fun for the sane folks who aren't Dems.

Yeah, if this had been the Democrat Party of Jim Crow days, these States would have gotten at least 3/5ths representation. This is what's known as "Regressive-Progressive", I suppose.
