May 16, 2008 A**easing the A**easersThe politically correct Left has declared yet more of our natural language off limits to all except themselves. Conservatives, it appears, may no longer under any circumstances apply the terms appease or appeasement to members of the Democratic Party and especially not to presidential candidates or other leaders of that party. When our president stood there resolute before the world and forthrightly declared that negotiating with those who publicly assert their dedication to Israel's annihilation is an exercise in appeasement comparable to Chamberlain's deadly pussyfooting with Adolph Hitler, it was enough to send the entire dumpster-diving media into a frothing fit. How dare he call Obama an appeaser? How dare he imply that Democrats are the party of appeasement? Never mind that he didn't, the most important result of their rabid reaction is that it puts us on notice how quickly words and expressions are being removed from the general American lexicon by those champions of free speech, the Liberal Left. No longer is it permissible for anyone not among the Leftist elite to utter these terms, appease, appeaser, appeasing and appeasement without feeling the wrath of the outraged appeasers who constitute a significant majority of the Democrat Party and the entirety of the Mendacious Media. Today we have witnessed the forced transmutation of those formerly acceptable words into a form found to meet with approval by liberals: And like the "N Word", public use of which is reserved exclusively to black rappers, comedians and any black thug addressing one of his own race, but totally forbidden to whites of any stripe, the "A Word" may be used only in its original, full, linguistic form by liberals and Democrats (yes, I realize the redundancy and the irony.) For the rest of us, in spoken form it is the "A" Word and when putting it on a written page, such as this, it must be in this form, a**ease, without those plosive P's which, you know, must sound a bit harsh and aggressive to the multiculturally sensitive ears of those a**easers on the a**peasing Left who are looking for every possible way to a**ease Al Qaeda, Achmadinejad or anyone else who might threaten to annihilate them unless offered ongoing signals of a**easement. Makes about as much sense as P**ce at any P**ce. Ask any I**ian, er, Native American.

Will conservatives knuckle under to this kind of pressure? It looks like it, based on John McCain's recent performance. Forget the Democrats. If the GOP is going to kowtow to the Left then what reason is there to be a Republican? I'm not voting for any of the three candidates still in the race. Since I won't stay home on election day, that leaves the Constitution Party. I would suggest to all Republican voters who won't vote for McCain that they not stay home. Vote for someone else. It's the only way to avoid giving the winner a false impression of his "mandate".

Is is really very simple why the Left cannot self-identify as a**easers. We have all lost our way in defining what really constitues freedom. It really isn't elections. Hamas in Gaza, Hitler in Germany, etc. FDR tried with the four freedeoms (speech, religion, fear, want) but of course the Left turned it upside down and screeches. Parliamentary forms of government allow politicians (bought and paid for by corporate interests) to determine when a goverment should be reaffirmed by the people. Freedom, a more perfect example, is freedom of (1)speech and (2)religion clearly constitutionally enshrined as gifts from God and the right to throw out the taxing entity every two years by a vote. Corporations and elites must be forced to re-rent politicians, forming a 'more perfect union'. When we define freedom, we can know who deserves our support.

I really hope the President and Senator McCain come right back at Senator Obama and the rest of the screeching democrats like Joe Biden and not let them have the last word. I truly believe they think they can own the debate, with the help of the MSM, by complaining loud and often. Obama will again try to redirect the debate by saying he has never said he would sit down with "terrorists" without preconditions. It depends on the definition of terrorists. With Senator Obama it probably is limited to Osama bin Laden.

Bush's speech not only reflected on Obama as naïve, it did it in such a way that would resonate with the Democrats' Jewish constituency by doing it at the Knesset on Israel's 60th birthday. This was a double body blow to the Democrats and it was obviously telling judging by the virulent response.
Charges of appeasement have been used in the past against Democrats without this kind of reaction. It's not the word that is dangerous to them, it's the context in this case.
Bush obviously hit a home run. Yet none of the papers I read carried it anywhere near the front page. The WaPo had it on A8 as did my local paper. The NY Times gave it a minor listing on their website, and made the story the reaction to the speech. All this won't stop its circulation in the community for which it intended: the Jewish press and blogs.
Democrats are all wrapped up in Obama. But they are finding out is he is a weak, inexperienced and a particularly vulnerable candidate. But they can't back down fearing the race factor will kill them if they change their minds. So they must lash out at the slightest provocation.
If only the Republicans had a candidate they could believe in....

The vociferous "indignation" expressed by the Democrats regarding the charge of appeasement is simply GUILT, inverted and projected. Anything but a firm stance or war with respect to deceptive, terrorist-supporting enemies (i.e., humiliation, cowering, giving away the farm, cash before principle and civilized diplomacy with the belly-laughing uncivilized). Utopianism, ultimately, unmasked as the most puerile naiveté. Hardly a program for foreign policy unless you can deny the glaring history of your adversaries.

The President gave a magnificent speech. More of these speeches needed to be given during his tenure. While resolute on the WOT, sadly, the President, out of some sense of noblesse oblige, did not respond to his critics, hence, allowing the left & the MSM to shape and distort the debate for 7 years. What the President and his advisors failed to understand, was that in not defending his policies, by default, he was also not defending his supporters. And that is why the Republican party is in the malise it finds itself in.

A very few white people are in fact allowed to use the N-word without consequences under the following conditions: He must be a dottering old ex-KKK Grand Klegle, be a Liberal Democrat from West Virginia, be the "Conscience" of the Senate and use the adjective white before it on Fox News! Then the N-word is perfectly OK. Perhaps, to be applauded in certain circles.

With all due respect (if there is any due) Obama and the Liberals can fly a kite. I will say anything I want about them or Obama. They are angry because Bush was correct. The Democrats are appeasers and they want us to lose in Iraq, regardless of the cost. I for one shall never bow to the Liberals. Obama is a painfully ignorant appeaser and if that make me a racist, so be it. Cry babies the lot of them.
If we nominated a black Ronald Reagan I would support him in a heartbeat. The left has to keep racism alive. In reality, Conservatives vote ideology, not race. Power or Freedom, which is it?

The real appeasers have been Bush and the majority of the Republican (Stupid) Party. A. Depentima is right on the money. Bush has been a punching bag for the last 7+ years. The Dems and their willing accomplices in the MSM have had a field day calling Bush everything from stupid to Hitler with little or no response from Bush or the Party. Now, as his tenure winds down, it is too late for any kind of offensive and the Party is doomed in the coming election. Bush and the party lost their conservative roots and the country will pay the price.
