For understandable reasons, Fox News Channel has remained rather silent about the kidnapping of correspondent Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig in Gaza. Presumably, negotiations are under way. I only hope that it is all about money, not about changing the tone of FNC's coverage.
If this AP article is to be believed, perhaps there is hope.
The wife of a kidnapped Fox News cameraman said Wednesday she's been told by Palestinian officials her husband's captors acted on their own, without support from militant groups. [....]
McNaught [the wife] said she has been told by Palestinian officials that the kidnappers appear to be rogue gunmen without ties to any of the political groups in Gaza.
The whole affair remains murky. I hope and pray that both men are released safely. But let their kidnapping illustrate the pressure under which all news gatherers in terror—controlled territory in the Middle East operate.
